The Republicans won a victory in the midterm elections Honolulu, Saturday, when councilman Charles Djou Democrats won one seat in the House, held in Hawaii in the district when President Barack Obama has grown up - the last victory for the Republican Party a position to regain control of Congress.

With most votes counted, the alderman of the city of Honolulu, 39-year-old hit, with 39.5% of the votes. Behind him there were two Democrats: Senate President Colleen Hanabusa the State of Hawaii, with 30.8%, and former Congressman Ed Case, with 27.6%.

The figure includes votes for the election by mail, which were issued just before Saturday, the deadline for submitting ballots. One last note will be announced on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Mr. Djou will become the first Republican to represent Hawaii in 20 years. Hawaii is traditionally a Democratic stronghold that is the home state of President Barack Obama. Mr. Djou fills the vacancy left by Democrat Neil Abercrombie, who resigned earlier this year to run for governor of Hawaii, and served in Congress until the term ends in early January.
